3N4D Chitwan Vulture Conservation

The Chitwan Culture, Wildlife and Conservation program is a 3 Nights / 4 Days educational tour designed for students in Grade 8 and above. The program focuses on biodiversity and cultural immersion, taking students to the Amaltari region to experience the heritage of the Tharu and Botay communities while exploring the ecosystems of Chitwan National Park.

Wildlife Exploration: Includes a jeep safari through Chitwan National Park to observe diverse bird and animal species.

Conservation Education: A visit to the Jatayu Restaurant to learn specifically about the Vulture Conservation Program.

Cultural Immersion: Students visit a local museum to learn about Tharu and Botay history and participate in house building and mud-pasting activities with the community.

Nature & Heritage Walks: Guided walks to study migratory habits of local wildlife and their impact on the ecosystem, alongside evening cultural programs.

Day 1

  • 08:00 AM: Board the vehicle and drive out of the valley.
  • Morning: Stop for breakfast at “21 kilo” after the first 21kms of the journey.
  • Midday: Lunch stop at Mugling before continuing the drive toward the plains.
  • Evening: Check in to the Amaltari Tharu Community Lodge; if time permits, take a walk around the community before dinner and an overnight stay at the homestay.

Day 2

  • 08:00 AM: Breakfast followed by the start of the jungle safari.
  • Morning: A 1.5 to 2-hour jeep safari inside Chitwan National Park.
  • Afternoon: Lunch followed by a visit to the Jatayu Restaurant for the Vulture Conservation Program.
  • Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3

  • Morning: Post-breakfast nature walk to study local fauna and ecosystems, followed by a visit to the local museum to explore Tharu and Botay culture.
  • Afternoon: Community service activity involving house building and mud pasting of walls.
  • Evening: Participation in a Tharu and Botay cultural program.

Day 4

  • 08:00 AM: Begin the drive back to Kathmandu.
  • Midday: Stop for lunch at Mugling.
  • 05:00 PM: Expected arrival back at school.
